Three Years Gone

Three years gone, three years past
I've come to accept
some things will never last
like the way you once looked at me from across the room
the way Young Love blossomed & bloomed
The way you held me, every night
you're large arms around me,
so I'd sleep tight
One day you didn't look at me
quite the same
I knew Our Love had aged
and soon you drove me away

I used to be sad
that you had passed
Now I think back, happily,
to the times that we had
I know deep down
that you chose me
and you, to me, a Prince
for the time being
It's something my heart
will keep forever
Although, now,
it's just a moment in time
When we were together
