Three Words - Stress, Tension, Panic

I was in the pub relaxing just the other night, the time when most drinkers are looking quite a sight, some drank all alone, some were on their phone, and some swilled fighting beer, so they want to fight. There were groups of regulars making up a shout. I joined with three friends of mine who had been let out, by their loving wives, who controlled their lives, for a mens night out to indulge in beer and stout. There was Dan and Teddy, and worried looking Stan, honing on a subject that can stress any man, that I find a riddle. I’m not in the middle, where the consequences must kill the marriage plan. For the topic risen involves a lot of stress, when ones wife is pregnant there is much to address, then all do agree, stress will always be, and can have a mans mind in a commitment mess. All agreed but Stan who was feeling tension. Asked if he agreed Stan showed apprehension, then I saw him cringe, and face tend to twinge, when to have a pregnant girlfriend got a mention. For a pregnant girlfriend is a tension error. Not stress because a pregnant wife doesn’t lead to terror; tension and stress, is a quite bit less, than sheer panic for that really is the scarer. Poor Stan who sat quiet when reality’s satanic. Inside his gut is churning and mind partly manic, for terror and stress, are nothing like the mess, when both wife and girlfriend are pregnant - then it’s panic!!!!

Oh the worry! No wonder he was trying to drown his sorrows. Another good tale of pub life. I so enjoy how you capture them in flowing rhyme. You are the Banjo of our time. SuZ
