Three Wishes

If I had three wishes What would they be? The first would be for stability The food and shelter that I have before been without The cold nights I spent sleeping in a car To not have to feel the numbing cloud of depression And the hopelessness that comes with it The second would be for my perfect self image That I didn’t have days where I was stressed and panicked All over whether my hair was parted correctly Or if I was being judged by others Their eyes staring into me even though they aren’t even looking at all That I didn’t have to worry about being pretty enough or up to the standard of society And the third would be to be able to help others To be equipped with the tools to teach, mentor, and heal So that those who suffer my pain can feel just a little less alone To give people the spark they need to reignite a dead or dying flame To be the brightest star in the sky And with those three wishes I would leave my legacy on the world Because the only thing that truly matters in this life is what we leave behind
