Three Wishes
Genie, I admit that I cannot believe it or conceive it,
and feel quite sure I must be dreaming or scheming it.
To submit, let me get and put on my serious britches,
believe in your realness and tell you my three wishes:
May everyone under earth’s same sun, in this world,
let the brother and sister truism be hence unfurled.
May race and gender issues lose all evident grasp
and individualism become mankind’s relevant task.
Last, render peace as universally urged, preferred,
and conferred with its splendor forever incurred.
All and all, dear genie, if you grant such wishes to me,
I believe Eden’s freedom may return for all to see.
