Thoughts of Losing You

I can’t grasp the thought of losing you,
Like a sea without waves, my heart is still.
I am lost, not looking for ways that are new,
You were my oxygen my lungs no longer fill.

I long to change the events that have transpired,
Wanting to keep writing the words that you love,
Hoping we can keep this relationship set fire,
So our dreams can be set free like a dove.

My love will last longer than any star,
It travels deeper than the core of the earth,
I will always find you no matter how far,
Even, if I must start over from birth.

Please accept these words into your soul,
Allow them to take root and plant deep,
Guard them from despair, a black hole,
For in them is my heart for you to keep.
