There is an ache deep in my core.
I don't think I can go on anymore.
It stops my lungs, my breath it severs 
I try in vain to hold it together

with weary arms wrapped around my middle,
I rock myself, like when I was little

The Great physician can heal 
His power, these miracles are real
Broken hearts or a body torn
He will comfort those who mourn
Yes he will comfort those who mourn

all days ahead turn black with dread
That once filled with life, now reeks of  dead
And that once filled with dreams, sweet plans for two…
Yea all of my hopes, you killed those too

they say I am just heart broken
well…not quite, you tore me open

You took my bloody, beating heart in your fist
and wrung it out with a nasty twist 
I can't survive this kind of pain
without my mind breaking, I'm going insane

I will have to fight for every breath 
and stop myself from wishing for death

The Great physician can heal 
His power, these miracles are real
Broken hearts or a body torn
He will comfort those who mourn
Yes he will comfort those who mourn

although unable right now to see
one day I'll heal, I'll be happy.

For I am a believer in God above
I rest my hope in his great love
To give me the oil of joy for mourning
Instead of ashes, his beauty adorning

The Great physician can heal 
His power, these miracles are real
Broken hearts or a body torn
He will comfort those who mourn
Yes he will comfort those who mourn
