Those Who Dream

The sun is our light
of dawning; and the moon,
our catalyst for dream--
while heaven’s serifs seeming
strumming each and every beam
know that those who watch over us
are also those who dream….

And those who dream
of angels and Gods
as devils dream their like,
enter vague, mystic kingdoms,
enchantment their delight--
for those who dream by day
dreamers they are by night….

And those who dream are those who
live twice; for sleep is not a death:
within dreams our hidden world
released from its vivid rest—
Yes! Those who dream often,
admittedly visually possessed:
challenged by demons, saints
both dim and bright,
while other vague and formless things,
yet to be named, rise and set--
specters floating in out
of each phantasmal sight….

Wow! This is fantastic, Joe! The way you analyze the dream world, while weaving thoughts in poetic rhythm is fantastic! This is a fave for me! :)

Thank you, Matthew; I can go through a work of mine a dozen times, thinking it free from typos...and then the next day, ouch! I think we get so caught up in our minds (the creative process), that what is in one's head is not always what we see on the paper: Blessings my friend!

Thank you Panagiota for commenting. My little poem was beginning to feel lonely:) Probably some of Halloween still left over in this poem. Really not meant to be a negative poem. The formless things yet to be named could be our inventions. The Specters, Ghosts, Angels, just to emphasize the spirit world behind all physical phenomenon. Nothing we see in the real world is really as it is. It is as we are. Dreams are indeed another plane of our life to be explored. Positive lovely dreams are the best. I have them also. Blessings my friend.
