Author's Note: This free verse poem was derived from several metaphorical images and concepts that Liam McDaid and I had discussed over time earlier this year. Like most poems of this nature, this particular poem was crafted in such a way as a thought-piece to capture the attention of the reader, and to literally speak to an image of a perfect vision of an eternal pulchritude that lasts forever. Enjoy the poem and its distinct metaphorical message that speaks to a memory that's forever young. (Gary Bateman - September 3, 2021)
Those Pretty Pearls of Your Face
The dew on your wings flutter now as your beauty sparkles so true
And we love the salt of oceans captured in a magic vision seen now
Through perfect cool crystals as the Sun and Moon rise and then set
True as the dark night kisses the day dewdrops of a thousand dreams
Held in a magical mirror that reflects your memory of forever young
As those pretty pearls of your face mirror now your enchanted smile
And speak to a perfect vision of an eternal pulchritude that is forever
