Those Not Here

I can't be greedy because of all I had...
There are so many missed yet still I'm sad...
The table's not full some chairs are vacant...
I could still feel them all, their chatter not shaken...
Pass the hot pepper still can be heard as the soup
is poured...
My Dads wise cracks followed by smiles and laughter
that's floored...
My Sister's surgery on the turkey as all our heads shake
with disbelief...
Thank God that's not a patient for the family would
be in grief...
A glass of wine is spilled that can be timed with a "cut
them off"...
May not seem like a Thanksgiving to all ,but these are my
memories that lead through my fall...
My smile and tears as I write down these great times...
Happy Thanksgiving Dad, Al and my Sister Di...

This breaks my heart over and over as I read of your love ones gone home, I can so relate, Michael..but one day, I'm sure you know you'll see them again! Nothing like "Blood" even when there are fights and disagreements, the pleasant memories always override. God bless and do all you can to have a great Thanksgiving! Love, audrey
