Those Motorway Lights
Those motorway lights, move quickly out of sight.
What tales can they tell? What joys and what hell?
Those motorway lights shine on tarmac to let drive.
The drivers you can’t see. Could be you or could it be me?
Those motorway lights cut deep into the night.
Where lives unnoticed pass by. Could be where dreams live and die.
Those motorway lights hide peoples lives behind screens with eyes.
As a car goes by a life untouched by your hand or your eye.
Those motorway lights move so close as they drive by.
But, so far away from the lives inside. May never meet or even lock eyes.
It’s so strange to think driving at night, there may as well be no one behind the wheels of those motorway lights.
