THOSE CHANDELIER EARRINGS
She wore chandeliers on her ears
Her smile beaming between her ears
Her earrings danced to the tunes of her feet
Her movements like her dancing earrings, so upbeat
She turned her head and diamonds sparkled
touching her eyes
She looked up and caught me by surprise
Her companion moved into the room
And she smiled at her handsome groom
Spaces I had dreamt myself to be in
She said something and they both laughed
Her chandelier earrings caught a spark
He tucked her loose lock behind her ear
To mark a tender moment and hold it dear
I wondered why she chose to wear
My gift of those beautiful chandeliers
Maybe she wanted me also to be near
I turned around not to show my tears!
