Thorns

Love is like a rose bush Beautiful to look at And painful to touch Her lips a beautiful red Like the flowers they represent Her eyes lighting up When she speaks with passion Despite all the good I still find the bad I feel my fingers prick As I run a hand across her cheek My lips sting When she kisses me Thorns filling my mouth This is not the girl I fell in love with This is someone new A monster that is not imaginary She's infected my mind Since the day I met her The poison in her Killing me Slowly coursing through my veins And I don't know how to deal With each hurtful word The edges cutting deeper I just stand there And take it The worst part is that No one assumes this is abuse They can't see the bruises on my heart Or the cuts in my mind No one knows the insults she screams When we are alone Or the lies she tells me Before I fall asleep No one knows the hurt I experience When no one is near No one thinks we have problems Because we look perfect We used to be perfect No one knows that she is the reason I cry But also the reason that I smile They do not realize that roses have thorns Because they are caught up in the beauty No one realizes why I left her All they know is what she tells them And apparently it was all my fault

as someone who seems to attract crazy girls....it is sometimes best to keep them from your world....and of course some of the blame belongs to me....drama queens, I guess that's just my affinity....;)
