This Question Does Not Compute

Let's see... how do I feel today Pretty much the same as yesterday except one day older Guess that's the least anyone can expect Wonder if an enormous amount of money just plopped in my lap Would that make any kind of a significant difference Sure would like to give that a shot Perhaps I'll buy a ticket for the next ten million dollar lotto To know how it feels when they call up and say “You are our grand prize winner! After the government grabs it's share We will be sending you a cheque for $136.50! As part of the rules of the contest You'll be required to make a televised statement Excitably explaining how this win has changed your life!” WOWSERS! I'm underwhelmed Been wearing these same old holey beat up jeans For nigh onto ten years now You won't believe how much this means to me... Don't know how I'll ever begin to thank you! I apologise if this sounds a bit cynical But where did the other $9,999,863.50 go This reply came back... “Sorry this question does not compute!” (I'm exaggerating a wee bit, of course!)

Like they say, (the committee of they), If it looks too good to be true, it's probably because it isn't true. in politic is it every really about what they say, when they seldom do what they say anyway. At least this is rhyming. lol I liked the way you think and how you share that with us through your poetry, Jack. Have a pleasant weekend, my friend. Bill

Dear Jack, Your poem is such a witty and thought-provoking reflection on life's uncertainties and the elusive nature of wealth. Through mundane daily thoughts with the fantasy of winning a large sum of money creates a humorous and relatable narrative. Your clever use of dialogue and sarcasm adds depth to the poem, highlighting the absurdity of life's contradictions. This is humorous yet poignant piece as you look at the true value of wealth and happiness. - Blessings, Daniel

just a clever poem, Jack. Winning the lottery would be heavenly, wouldn't it. I think I'd still wear my comfortable jeans because that's all I could afford after the government takes its share. An underlying truth to your words written in a whimsical way. Have a splendid day, hugs, Sara
