This, My Ink's Desire

Yes…feel me, temper my insanity,
hold my fleshed passion as I connect
with an audience to share how a night
devours monsters at the seams.
And yet, this refrain loses as the final poll
excludes my name. Why so? My lenses
run up and down the fourth time; my breath
skips : but the multitude of acclaim
from my readers inhabit my soul,
allowing me to shower my ink
with deeper hues as my inner congas
beat for another round of adventure;
this time more assured that by nourishing
my own desire to regard the heart's compass
first and foremost is what matters..

as always.

Oh by the way, this will be the first time I ever rated a poem (I never noticed that little box up there) Why doesn't it go up to 10? I would have given it a 9.5 at least...No 10 because nobody's perfect except me (Yeah, RIGHT)

And why doesn't it show that I gave it a 7? This is an outrage...

Beautiful, I especially love: "but the multitude of acclaim from my readers inhabit my soul, allowing me to shower my ink with deeper hues as my inner congas beat for another round of adventure;"

Beautifully written... With writting... the ultimate need is to share what's in your heart... With others... and for them to listen... Happy New year from the Eastman's and that poor misunderstood Dragon, too, of course.

Nette, Very well-done here indeed. I like the metaphor of "My Ink's Desire." (Reminiscent of "Spill Ink," which I like to use at times in correspondence and messages!!) Great imagery throughout the poem!! I wish all the best for you in Jerry's contest. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!! A "7" too from me. Happy New Year, Gary

Touched by this grand poem which transcends contest wins and maybe the number of reply hits. For what matters is that you allow a big space for personal expression and embrace it! Nette, thank you for inspiring me. Happy New Year!
