This Journey

Ruffled are these feathers Having winged too many flights; They've endured too many valleys And achieved too many heights. They are weary from the beating Through the chill and torrid wind, This journey, oh so fleeting-- May it finally know an end. ~Mel

Sorry to take so long to reply kiddo. Need I a spanking, time-out--or bed without dinner (That's medieval shit)! Perhaps a lengthy back massage would suffice? Thanks for being one of the very few who recognize the "artistry, power, meaning and the dance that is my poems." It might be a week before I post again, but keep watchin' Love to you and Abby...xoxo...Mel

Ah, Mel. Sometimes the journey can feel overwhelming But there is always hope, my friend. We all take our own journey and sometimes may ask for an end but God may have other plans. Be strong, faithful and joyful for you still have much to give...... Robert.

Thank you Robert. Some days are better than others, as you know. Loneliness can be the toughest. I'll be posting a poem tonight about that. I hate to dispirit everyone, but there will be poems about raindrops and roses--just not tonight. Enjoy your weekend!

Faye! Hoe are you? Good to hear from some of my ole friends. I'll likely come and go, like the seasons. Decorate accordingly, and catch me when I blow by. All the best to you and yours Faye, and thank you for the comment...Mel

Mel, I understand. I do. I can't tell you how often I've been there. This is a sad write...I'm sorry to read it, but I know you have what it takes to overcome. Take care.

It's more empathy than biography. That is, I took a somewhat dark moment, and then put myself in the place of others who might feel worse, and this popped up. Having said that, life can be a bitch, and I know you know. Thanks for your kind and encouraging words, Eileen...xxx...Mel

I'm not suicidal, but during one of life's less thrilling moments, this is what my mind spit out. Trust me, and it's hard to explain, but this, and many of my writes, jump from mind to keyboard in minutes--almost unconsciously--and only after do I put them on paper. Thanks ilene! Hugs...Mel
