This Grace


You are a light, shining despite the pain
When the colors turn dark and gray
When it feels like we’re expecting thunder and rain
I turn to the skies, and begin to pray

Seeking the Father, who knows all that we feel
He sees us in our trouble, sees our worst fears
When we’re at our lowest, He is even more real
He’s my Savior, His love brings me to tears

You are a joy, pouring from the summer day
When the doubts tempt me, and I feel afraid
I hear the voice of Jesus and all I can say…
“His love is with me… the highest price He paid”

Yearning for the grace to see that hope is free
Wherever I go, I feel the wind and leaves
Silencing the darkness, erasing fear and telling me
Jesus is always with me – that’s why my heart believes

You are the kindness of a love that never leaves
Because I know my Savior, I also know this hope
Despite the worst, even cancer – my soul never grieves
Because of this grace I know just how to cope

Remembering the doubts and the fears with this disease 
I realize that you’re hurting, but you are strong for me
And because I know you are a soul who yearns to please
There isn’t a doubt you’re worth this love that won’t deceive

You are a promise from Jesus Christ who writes our story
Because we know His love, there isn’t a doubt of healing
He is the Prince of Peace, the love that we’ll serve in glory
And, I will always believe He wrote this love with such a feeling

I feel more in love with you than I ever have before
Because I know you, honey, my heart and soul adore
You are the kind word, the heartfelt embrace
With Jesus beside us, we’ll never doubt this grace
