This Genie's No Jeannie

A curvy mermaid once spotted me Fast asleep 'neath the shade of a tree -- She cried, I grant you a wish I'm a genie, not a fish -- Said I, Wow, genie, please marry me... You should be careful what you wish for My 'genie' was a fish to her core -- Always stayed in the ocean Knew not wifely devotion -- Go make love to a fish from the shore July 26, 2019 Two Sea-Themed Limericks Poetry Contest Sponsor: Tania Kitchin Contest Result: N/A

ha, that would be no fun at all for you. Have you seen the tv show called Sirens? In it, the guy does make love to the mermaid!! Very interesting tv show! I enjoyed your lims.

I'm behind the times I guess when it comes to TV. Stopped watching in 1978... Oh, well. I guess I'll just have to imagine making love to the mermaid. Sounds a bit dicey. Ha, ha. Thanks for the comment, Andrea. Best wishes, gw

Hope the tears are tears of laughter. If they're the other kind, I'll have to relabel this a 'Cry-merick.' Thanks for the feedback, Jennifer! :) gw

We're sounding somewhat 'Suessian' here, Raven: Red fish or blue fish? Old fish or new fish? … Ha, ha. Thanks for the comment! :) gw
