Think Before You Criticise Your Children

She listened to her mother talking Her mother was as usual criticising her in front of all As her mother went on and on girls sadness was clearly evident on her face It was pricking her deep inside She felt bad and useless She wished she could change herself But certain things were beyond her control. She couldn't study for long hours It was not her nature She was introverted, she wouldn't know what to talk She couldn't change herself despite best efforts She felt she was the cause of her mother's miseries She wanted to die but lacked courage to do so One thoughtless act of mother Left many scars on tender heart These scars will remain for ever She will never feel good about self She will never be confident of self Forever scared of talking with mother, especially about her mistakes Trying to hide them. A fearful, sad and depressed mind will roam about lifeless Doing her chores to the best of her ability
