Thief of Smiles
He said all he wanted was her smile
So she offered it up and gave it away all the while
The tears fell knowing he would never give it back again
RAGE to find the stolen smile became the quest
The ultimate test of the badest and best days of her life
Mile after mile she searched everywhere for her stolen smile
In this place and that face nothing could erase
Not being able to do what was such a natural thing
Then it occurred to her one day
After her long journey had nearly swept her away
That she in part was reaping what she had sown
But the poor thief had stolen her smile
For he had none of his own
