They know not what they do

I saw him there, sun in his hair Bloody crown upon his head I felt each pound… each hammer sound For I was nailed to the same wooden death bed I knew at once this was God's son That he was innocent of all wicked deeds Compared to him I was deep in sin A thief deserving of all they do to me But Jesus the Christ, the world's sacrifice, He said, “ I forgive you” and we'll meet in paradise! He peered through tears as the crowd mocked and jeered and said Father please forgive them too… For they know not what they do. How could this be? Beside me hung a King… The very God who made the trees we hang upon His creation alive, oh how beautifully thrives And just look at what we have done! And where are the men who swore they were friends, disciples who followed wherever he'd go? Denying they knew that he was true and with the dawn came the crow. But Jesus the Christ, the world's sacrifice, He said, “ I forgive you” and we'll meet in paradise! He peered through tears as the crowd mocked and jeered and said Father please forgive them too… For they know not what they do. And His love for us was shown The greatest love ever known By his blood we are free Oh Father, please forgive me…. But Jesus the Christ, the world's sacrifice, He said, “ I forgive you” and we'll meet in paradise! He peered through tears as the crowd mocked and jeered and said Father please forgive them too… For they know not what they do. They know not what they do.

Beautiful poem as seen through the eyes of the redeemed thief. Yes, the Roman soldiers truly did not know what they were doing, being in ignorance. But the Jewish leaders were bloodguilty, since their Scriptures confirmed beyond doubt he was the Christ. Even still, some later repented and were redeemed by the power of the blood. Well done Crys

The high priest house (Ananias) and the Jewish Sanhedrin were guilty of turning Jesus over to the Roman authorities and falsely accusing him of sedition. Therefore, they are the bloodguilty ones, as well as the mob who cried out for Jesus' execution

Thank you Tom. We know Christ went willingly to give up his life in the flesh, through much suffering, to pay our wages for sin. He could have called 10,000 angels as the scriptures and song says. Rev.2 and 3 tells us that of the 7 churches, only 2 were pleasing to God. These 2 churches had one thing in common, they knew and taught who these people really were who call themselves Jew but lie. There are 13 tribes(Jacob gave Joesphs 2sons his inheritance making of 12 tribes, 13)...Israel has one tribe of Judah, called Jews but there are some who claim that line that are not of Judah. I believe it was these children of Satan who were among the religious "Jews" who crucified our Lord. Does your church teach this doctrine? Just curious. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me! Xoxo
