Notes About The Poem

They Died Young Legend

They never hand a chance,
young lovers in a dance with time
and circumstance.

Loving
Laughing
Running
Hiding
Robbing
Killing

But the world adored the lovers,
the doomed wanderers,
the hellbent folk heroes
evading the law and the end
that was coming.

There is no honor among thieves,
betrayal is only a deal away
from a friend willing to make a trade,
and the legend of the lovers began
when their lives ended in a trap
full of bullets.
