They Binded Me With Sci-lence

This is based on Thomas Dolby's great song: She Blinded Me With Science. If you've never listened to it, I'd recommend doing so; it's a funky classic from the 80's.

With false hope in their potions
They can push their drugs on me
They play on my emotions
Til’ I fall for their duplicity

Mm, they binded me with sci-lence
They binded me with sci-lence
Due to my naivety

Now uh, huh huh
When there’s no curiosity
I’m binded with sci-lence
Sci-lence!

If I don’t put my faith in chemicals
Binding me with sci-lence
Sci-lence!
Sci-lence!

Mm, it’s blindness in devotion
When they propagandize me
Or they’ll drown me in the ocean
If I question their reality

They binded me with sci-lence
They binded me with sci-lence
While they keep the truth away from me

They try to take my liberty
If we don’t trust the science, science
Sci-lence!

Mmm mmm, mmm mmm, mmm

I can hear their tyranny
Binding me with sci-lence, sci-lence
Sci-lence!

Huh, they create climate commotions
And then blame you and me
While they fly over the oceans
Conveyed by the Learjet family

They binded me with sci-lence
They binded me with sci-lence
To keep the truth from humanity

Good heavens Mr. Fauci, you’re so truthful

I, I don’t believe it
There he goes again
Telling us: science is settled
And any dissentions
Will be suppressed
As antiquated notions

But, it’s blinding devotion
And when they suppress reality
To the depths of the ocean
The truth will never get a chance to be

Unh, they binded me with sci-lence
They binded me with Sci-lence
They binded me with

I am so in agreement with your poem. Science used to be science, but no more. Everything has been politicized. No doubt poems will be changed in meaning in the future. I hope we can stop this parody.

Hello David, what a wonderful commentary on the influence of science and authority in our lives. It's a nice reflection on the power dynamics at play when truth and dissent are suppressed in the name of progress. I loved that your wonderful imagery and rhythmic language, you illuminate the struggle between blind faith and critical inquiry, urging us to question the narratives imposed upon us. It's of most importance to maintain a healthy skepticism and seeking truth amidst the noise of manipulation and control. - Blessings, Daniel

A clever wite David, you are a champion, combing truth and piwer, and wonderfully innovative with sounds. I appreciate you magical creations! Hugs, Pangie xx I have zero faith in science.))

Thanks for that, Pangie. I was a fan of the original 'Blinded Me With Science', and I wish I wrote something like this a few years ago.

David, I listened to the song. Very funky indeed. The poor person ending up failing a lot of academic subjects. It's a good thing when scientists differentiate between settled facts and things that have a degree of uncertainty. There is certainly a lot of uncertainty in medicine. We're also not addressing certain scientific conclusions equally. I'm wondering about how we heat our house using fossil fuel, for example. Not so easy to get away from it without a private jet.

Thanks so much, Duke. I think even private jet frequent flyers need a good dose of our poetry in their lives.
