These Not Unbroken

After all those years,
I do not expect to find the gate unbroken.
It will be, and will be ajar.
I'll go through it to the house abandoned,
a sullen house, a wrecked out car.

All things will be a trial, so broken,
the summing up of me, too: b r o k e n .
