These Dying Eyes

Over tepid seas of tranquility My mind is awash with the ability To sail to the edge of oblivion's breadth For this is the day and the hour of my death I fear not the impending darkness to come But take solace in life's fruition and sum Each step taken was a revelation sown Down the path of hope and the roads unknown The bonds that were laid and solidified The dreams that were made, the ones cast aside The women I held under a starlit sky And those that I glimpsed as they passed me by The friends and family that I'll now soon part The love taken with me in this mortal heart No poet or scholar could ever surmise The grandeur witnessed by these dying eyes
