These Are the Days
These are the days we’re all paying more
than what our health care should be paying for.
Prices go up but my check the same stays.
We’re all paying more; these are the days!
These are the days for staying inside.
No more bikinis, skin getting fried.
Now I am wiser about UV rays.
For staying inside, these are the days.
These are the days to see my face drop.
If I had money, I’d make it all stop!
Off to the stylist to cover my grays.
To see my face drop, these are the days.
These are the days to keep up with health.
Once you’re past 60, it’s better than wealth.
Praying my mind doesn’t go in a haze.
To keep up my health – these are the days!
These are the days to watch what I eat.
Nothing too fatty or tasty or sweet.
I’m taking a risk deep frying fillets.
To watch what I eat – these are the days.
These are the days I live hand to mouth
wondering if I ought to move south
to Costa Rica. I hear it’s the craze!
I live hand to mouth. These are the days!
“These are the days” I'd dreamed not to say
so quickly before life was more than halfway
behind me! Going into autumn’s phase,
I'd dreamed not to say “These are the days.”
