My original poem called my_lockdown_holiday_1249882 has been enhanced and edited, its for a contest on our Island, We have 4 contests over the next 4 weeks each with a different theme, this first  theme is Home (during covid 19 lockdown).

I adore our beautiful island in the middle of the Irish Sea. And since we've entered lockdown, there’s no other place I’d rather be. All my travel plans were cancelled, so I’m enjoying a super staycation, and my lovely little bungalow is a perfectly natural destination. I often visit ‘Casa Del Back Garden.’ It’s a picturesque place, I must say. I love to potter about in my greenhouse. For safety sake, it’s at home we must stay. Despite us being on lockdown we’ve got ample food to eat, and I get creative in ‘Gran Kitchena,’ where I can cook up a real tasty treat. I miss seeing my friends and family, but we contact each other by zoom, and we can chat away quite freely from the comfort of our own living room. My holiday doesn’t ‘Costa Fortuna’ as lockdown rules mean we cannot roam, so I created my own virtual vacation, but in truth... there’s no place like home! 02/02/21

we are SO lucky to be out of lockdown once again, we have very strict border rules in place, 2 new cases this week but both in isolation so its not in the community and long may it stay this way:-) hugs jan xx

Oh, I hope this wonderful poem is a winner in your island nation's contest, Jan. Very clever (and witty) how you gave parts of your property exotic names. Would love to see your greenhouse! Enjoyed very much. Hugs, Carolyn

There is an awful lot of poetic licence lol my greenhouse hasnt been touched in months, i must start to get seeds planted but the weather is unpredictable with lots of rain and storms we are not doing anything in it at the moment. I finally managed to submit the poem into the local contest I would love it to win and will keep you posted but the competition will be stiff :-) hugs Jan xx

I intend to try and enter the local contest for each of the 4 themes... not sure if they have received this one, i hope so as I am so pleased with it especially the word play on holiday locations:-) hugs jan xx

great poem, jan! your home sounds like a wonderful place to be but i think so much of home is within our hearts because i'm very contented in my one-bedroom apartment in manhattan (which i know would definitely not be the case for most people)...

Home is where the heart is an the island is my forever home, if it is another couple of years before we can travel then so be it, but we are now out of lockdown for the second time since covid hit our island. I couldn't live in a huge city now am too used to Island life, but each to their own preference, many would find our Island boring after a while lol:-) hugs Jan xx

We are free not to wear masks and not distance but its hard to get out of the routine when out walking. The border is closed except for key workers etc etc and definitely not to jet ski romeos... i hope he gets a long exclusion order as he put the whole Island in jeopardy:-( hugs jan xx
