There's a Stranger In Your Place

There's a stranger in your place I see you, across the room and, I know it must be you... you have that special quality, possessed by very few. We've been together for all these years, I've always listened... tried to calm your fears... but lately... I've noticed...with you, something's changed I never expected this, but, now I see... that there's a stranger in your place. I feel like you're an actress... playing in a movie scene. I can see that... it's, your lips that are moving... it's, just the words...I can't believe. bridge I can see... you're having trouble with your mind. so I try to...help you... all I can, but, I can see that... you're changing day by day... suddenly, you treat me like a stranger. Chorus I recognize your body, and I recognize your face, you're changing day by day... now, I see that there's a stranger...in your place! Bridge I can see... you're having trouble with your mind. so I try to...help you... all I can, but, I can see that... you're changing day by day... suddenly, you treat me like a stranger. Chorus I recognize your body, and I recognize your face, you're changing day by day... now, I see that there's a stranger...in your place! you're changing day by day... now, I see that there's a stranger...in your place! repeat and fade to zero John Derek Hamilton September 06,2017

This is so sad and painfully honest. Your strength and will to see the woman you love trapped in this unforgiving vortex is heartbreaking and beautiful John. I am so glad you write and hope it gives you some solace so you may stay strong to endure, overcome and triumph over it all. A wonderful song penned by a wonderful heart. blessings xo

Thanks Jo, it has been distressing for me, I don't think she is suffering as she is totally disconnected from reality, it's everyone else who knows and loves her that is suffering. You're right God is my strength and my stronghold, if not for constant prayer I would not be standing. Thanks again for your kind thoughts.

I was saddened to hear about the situation, John, so reading this really does break my heart. "it's, your lips that are moving... it's, just the words...I can't believe."...such beautiful lines, from a sorrowful heart. I know the days ahead will not be easy. You're in my thoughts, keep writing...wishing you a peaceful weekend ahead. Always, Laura

Thanks Laura, it's a truthful depiction of what happened, it was like the invasion of the body snatchers, she looks the same but everything else is different. Such a sad situation, thanks for your compassion!

Hi John, I could sense the frustration and love in these heartfelt lyrics . I have family members who deal with mental illness and it's tough. You conveyed that point very well in these well written lyrics . Be hopeful for a better tomorrow- Alexis

Thanks Alexis, it is difficult when the one you love disappears right in front of you, and you're left with a stranger, how does one cope with that? I do have hope she is getting treatment and hopefully will respond, thanks for your kind words.
