There Was This Man I Once Knew

There was this man I once knew
I had his back and he had mine
I would have taken on a few
Even if he stepped out of line
But one night my ex-wife said
That it was over, that we were threw
I began to feel like I was dead
My heart was crushed, I was blue
The anger rose as so did the pain
I held back my vicious rage
I could not dare go insane
Like a lion inside a cage
That man use to be my best friend
But he was why me and her came to an end
