There Must Be a Punishment

There must be a punishment For those who are adept at rejection Oh, to make them swallow The vile poison of pain That eats at your heart That cripples your mind That suffocates your life Knowing…….. That you aren’t good enough Never good enough! You wait for a sign… A message read A smile acknowledged A touch reciprocated And you wait And wait The awful silence That eternal tortured silence Shouts out at you “You are a nobody…a non-entity…you are nothing!” Rejection I wish…. I wish I could pay him back I wish I could make him feel I wish I could walk all over him I wish I could I could make him kneel. I wish I could make her suffer I wish I could make her cry I wish I could make her invisible I wish I could make her sigh There must be a punishment For those who make you Want to stop… Caring Giving Hoping Believing Longing Desiring Yes, even to stop living. There must be a punishment For those who reject Without a thought Without a care Without a regret There must be a punishment There must be There MUST be a punishment For those who flay your heart With the knife of rejection. You are right... Everyone should get what they deserve... karma is not working hard enough.... I just hope you know rejection can be a good thing... Sometimes there is something way better out there for you...love your flying thoughts..pd

Thanks, Poet Destroyer! So lovely to hear from you. This was written in a moment of complete frustration. Sometimes we are rejected by those nearest and dearest to us, so....it isn't always a case of waiting for something better. We can learn to cope. Thanks for taking the time to read and post! :)

Sometimes we won't see the person who hurts us receive any punishment in this lifetime..When we hold anger, resentment, and bitterness toward another it only eats away at us..Enjoyed reading your very emotive and expressive work..Sara

Dear Sara, I believe we have to let these situations rest and let God deal with it; however, that doesn't take the pain away. I now this was quite a harsh poem that I wrote when I was completely upset, but I completely agree with you. We are the ones who end up suffering the most. Thanks for your post!
