There Is This Girl
There is this girl that I once knew
Who lied and stole and swore
She wore Makeup to attract the men
She dropped her pride upon the floor
She hung around with those like her
Who plied her with alcohol and weed
She laughed and scorned at others
Forgetting her own need
She wore her laughter like a mask
She was hurting deep inside
She didn’t really like herself
And had trampled on her pride
But then one morning she awoke
And knew she had to change
She knelt down upon the floor
It all felt rather strange
She prayed to Jesus there and then
She cried, her heart so raw
She invited him into her life
She couldn’t live like this anymore
He offered her forgiveness and hope
He knelt right by her side
He healed her inner wounds
Now she’s got dignity and pride
He whispered that he loved her
He gave her perfect peace
And now she sings his praises
And her heart has been released
