There Are Days When
There are days when I can look back and then
I must wonder how this all came to be
Was it happenstance I asked you to dance
Or maybe you were just waiting for me
I recall that night in the pale moonlight
The smell of night jasmine filled the air
A cautious slow dance preceded romance -
And the rising sun had found us still there
The years have gone by - how quickly they fly
And our love has reshaped all we've become
Our children are grown - children of their own
As our world expands from a few to some
So mark my words, my friend, there are days when
I look back and live it over again
