Then and Now

Then and now, a world apart
A decade or more, a change of heart

We used to be, so carefree and young
Our thoughts and feelings, a simple song

But now we find, the world is more complex
Our responses to life, more nuanced and vexed

We've learned and grown, in ways both big and small
Our consciousness shifted, standing tall

But still we seek, a further shift within
To find our peace, to let our light begin

To shed the weight, of doubts and fears
To live our truth, with love and tears

For then and now, are just a fleeting breeze
Our journey's path, a winding, twisting seas

But if we trust, and take the time to see
Our shifting selves, will set us free.
