'the Year That's Gone'
The year that’s gone,
In the wink of an eye,
The sands of life have run,
How much in hand knows none?
Only wrongs that I have done?
Any deed that’s righteous one?
Have I lost or won?
Is there a reckoning or none?
Be it life, business, health or fun,
It’s ‘numbers’ that make up the ‘ton’.
Let bygone years be bygone,
Pay heed to the coming one.
We have lost many a dear-one,
In the heart they are ‘all in one’.
We can tread on their steps one by one,
No fear if we live & die for ‘One’
If we make ‘today’, the best one,
Tomorrow shall surely be won.
