THE WORST OF US
THE WORST OF US
Humanity what brings us to
morally decompose,
from rugged ways of caveman days,
to Armageddon's throes?
fire, the wheel, agriculture,
domesticated pets?
What e'er it was, that was the cause,
was so from the onset.
T'was not some fruit with magic roots
to blame the fairer sex,
that patriarchal alibi
made snide eternal hex.
Nor freedom fought for righteously
for her, and him, and they,
not different skin, or distant kin,
or one's choice not to pray.
'Tis greed and lust, the worst of us,
what also drive us on.
Tame the beasts, keep em on a leash,
before we are but gone.
