This epigram presents a stark commentary on hierarchy and power, using the symbolic weight of the Dragon, Guisi, and Houzi to illustrate societal contrast. The opening line, “The Dragon roars, all equal under heaven,” feels almost ironic, as the second line immediately dismantles the idea of equality by showing the suffering of the Guisi (slave) and the Houzi (noble’s son).

Indeed society is always like this, people sitting on powerful position always say every one is equal. But we people who live this mundane life know the reality very well of the so called equality.
