The World Is Not Fair
Prepare yourself my child, This big world isn’t fair
The illusion that the world is fair will not serve you
When it’s not busy with genocide and apartheid
Bullies are everywhere and come in all shapes and sizes
Some even wear disguises. There’s no safe place:
Society, school, work, and even home for some
Life is not fair, The trick is to make the most of your life in a world of bullies
Sounds negative but no, it will serve you to be prepared, Don’t be under the illusion that the world is fair.
Greed is everywhere but appreciate kindness when you come across it
Think of the daily survival of the fittest in the wild
That’s nature and mankind could choose to live with higher morals
Truth is… it doesn’t always but when it does it’s marvelous.
Once you are of age to make decisions, You can choose not to be a bully yourself
And possibly see ways of righting wrongs, even fighting injustices
Let your mission in life be to create fairness around you
I hope you meet more than your share of people who will be positive, encouraging and loving.
In spite of the harshness of reality, butterflies still choose to gracefully dance through life.
They appreciate sunlight and don’t complain about the length of their short life.
Carefree of carnivores or butterfly catchers around the corner
Butterflies think only of adoring sunshine and dancing free for whatever time they have.
