The Words You Spout

The words you spout
fill me with doubt
they are perplexing to my soul
the diversions they create'
Well
Time foretold and tore the wool
from my eyes
your narcissism runs deep,
your many faces slowly came to light
when the doors were closed
whilst away from prying eyes
Long awaited were my cries
I was like meat on a hook
wilted down over time
Your words like knives to my soul
Relentlessly swiping strokes
All I could do is fade

I'm starting to think
that angels aren't as strong
as demons!

My demons now crawl
from shoulder to shoulder
warding off those winged
pretenders.
