The Wondering Poet--Paz

Wonder where I'll go

Where, oh, where without my protector

                                                    Yet, I've gone with him

At least part of me

Gone

One tree felled

Now limbs fall from the other

                                  So, I 've lost me

Maybe through poems
I'll find will find myself

When one is cut off from life who has been towering over and giving shade like a tree, life becomes miserable. Yet our grief can be sublimated into creative writing. I can sense your loneliness.

Valsa, little things are missed each day, but God is there helping me pull it together. I am gradually doing better. Your comments are understanding. Sara K.

Victor, when we invite Jesus into our hearts, mind, soul in the form of the Holy Spirit then we will want to live the way we should go, and we will strive for it. However, we will miss the mark on occasion, but we can always repent and go forward. Your visits and comments always encourage me. Sara K.

Dear Sara, The raw vulnerability in these few lines is incredibly moving. "One tree felled / Limbs fall from others" is such a precise, striking image. It perfectly captures how grief doesn’t just take the person we lose; it shears off pieces of everyone standing nearby, leaving us wondering how to keep our balance in the aftermath. Having spent nearly two decades sitting in healing rooms with folks trying to navigate the maze of loss, I know just how heavy and disorienting that specific kind of isolation can be. When the one who felt like a protector is gone, the silence left behind is deafening. I truly believe that writing our way through the dark is how we eventually map the path back to ourselves. Also, through our Lord and Savior, He always gives us strength. Blessings, Daniel

Yes, Daniel, I could not have made it without Christ Jesus. Thank you for the nice uplifting review and encouragement. I am seven months past his death and I am healing slowly. Sara K.

Andrea, thank you for the uplifting review of this one. I do like it better than my first one, but I had already entered it. You can do it. Look up some comments on the internet that professionals have written about this particular poem and spring from that. Sara K.
