The Wishing Stone
Legend has it, that there's a field
Where a stone stands tall and true
A gift from an evil magician
a stone was made for wishin'
But a curse, would surely
follow you
"Three wishes minus two", it said
When someone would venture near
This stone was so enchanted
that with every wish it granted
Things you cherished most
would disappear
A warning was written upon the stone
That said, "What are you willing to lose?"
But still, they kept on wishin'
even with this one condition
The people wondered who
was next to choose
"A promise made, a promise given"
The stone would always say
For every wish they'd make
the stone was sure to take
Two, of their children away
"Three wishes minus two", a curse
Would be their just reward
A wish never made twice
too high of a sacrifice
Much higher, than they could
ever afford
