The Winter Rose

Planted a decade ago, the first of three.
Guided by a loving hand with gentle wind and water to prevent drooping and wilting.
Still beautiful when thorns prick from uncontrolled change.
Listens tentatively to the sun to grow, yet seeks more independence in the clouds.
Magnificent is the color when in bloom.
Proud, I am, of what you’ve become.

Today, of all days, you will be in bloom on this winter day.
To feel loved and cared for…special to be called from class.
Sent to you, the same flower, as you represent to me…
On Valentine’s day!

Corey, a lovely write, I assume to an eldest daughter. I enjoyed reading your Valentine Card. Congratulations on your win in Bobby's contest. Have a blessed day my friend
