The Wind Shepherd

The Wind Shepherd The wind, Like a shepherd, Drives white caps - Ocean's sheep - Onto the shore's lap Where they leave Their foamy fleece On the empty beach To the delight Of beachcomber's feet.

Thank you - thank you my friend. I think I mentioned to John that this little poem slipped out of a file I was organizing this week. Am so glad it reappeared so it could be shared with those of us who love the beach. Thank you for talking a virtual walk with me.

Sam, a new format for you? I've seen it twice today, it's very nice. Simple and clean. Bringing the Shepherd of the wind metaphor arc from sheep to wool to whitecap was a delight to see, so artfully accomplished. Love your work, love this one. Blessings, friend ~ John

"Little cat feet" such a vivid image as we think about watching a cat move. Fun to look at many sources of inspiration - poems to learn from as a writer!

Hi John, I have always loved Carl Sandburg's poem "Fog." It has been an inspiration to me. Was cleaning out, organizing poetry files, and this fell out of the pile! I think I was planning to expand it but never did. I do have a number of pieces like this that remind me of "Fog." Thanks for encouraing me to continue in this format. Blessings my friend!

Ha, ha! Such a delight to contemplate. Your extended simile works for me! ~ Sheep in wolf's clothing. LOL :) Gershon (Sheep) Wolf
