The Wind

We feel the coolness of its touch when summer has begun. With oceans as its ally we’ve seen what wind has done. If wind had never filled the sails of ships from long ago, Just where this land we love would be I think no one can know. We note that mighty hurricanes begin as gentle breezes We sometimes even calculate the force behind our sneezes. Winds come in a myriad of meteorological forms Some are tiny whirlwinds while some are raging storms. So, when I feel the slightest puff or strain to keep my feet I’ll just remember winds are only currents that we meet. The winds are known by many names, these have been just a few So, I care not where they take me, as long as it’s to you. Written By John Posey 05/24/13 Author’s Note: This Poem was inspired by Gail Angel Doyle’s Poem “Where the Wind Blows” Jake
