The Wild Mirror

A hundred years passed through these halls. If you walk inside, you see ivy on the walls. But that one mirror remains unshattered. Even as the piles of clothes lay tattered. The door is open in this haunted space. A snake slithered around on the bookcase. A little raccoon made it in as well. So did a rabbit as if under a spell. They gaze in the mirror one by one. Every animal under the sun. The insects and spiders too. They like to look in the mirror, it’s true. Most mirrors on the wall have shattered and fallen down. But the Wild Mirror keeps his crown.
