The Whispers of Autumn

Summer departs tiptoeing, steps veiled Fall,
Tantalizing hint of golden sunshine,
Sigh sad rose bushes, shake branches trees tall,
Decoupage of leaves, on maple and pine.

Whimsical season comes humming delight,
Soar cerise, tangerine, crimson, red leaves,
Floating, fluttering, swooshing, spreading light,
Tapestry of colours - autumn's dreams weave!
Murmuring joy, glimmering streaks of light,
Witness splendid splendour in golden trees,
O Autumn, we view a gorgeous sight,
tenderly caressed by a soothing breeze.

Ravishing Autumn, sublime your whisper,
ecstatic feeling your footprints here!

I enjoyed reading your Autumn write. It will be great to get some cooler weather. What a pretty time of the year. "Good Luck" We both did this one. Have a fun day writing away................

Dearest Mala, your sonnet literally hums with a "tapestry" of fall's color "floating, fluttering, swooshing" in total abandon of the season - "glimmering joy." Love your word use, "decoupage," so fresh. I like the way you combined the second and third stanzas and your out of the ordinary rhyme scheme for a sonnet. I think this falls in line with John's requirement to play with the sonnet form. Best wishes for a win, dear friend. Blessings of autumn joy to you!

Hello Mala, Mother nature spills her paintbox in the right places this time of year. I am sad that summer has to end. It is my fav. season. Love & Friendship . Darlene/

Hello Mala, Yes summer is my fav. season, it is yours to. I enjoy to see the Autumn colours. Yet when the leaves begins to fall, i dread it. i do not like to rake leaves. I dread winter. I walk slowly on icy sidewalks and in deep snow. Love & Friendship, /Darlene/

Thanks, Darlene. Summer is my favourite too, but I love Autumn colours. I even love watching snow when it starts falling early in winter...but then I dread the icy roads. Hugs, Sweet Friend ~
