The Westward Wind

                                               morning whispers calm
by noon she teased the flowers
                                              dust now flees westward

We had some dry weather earlier this year and I thought that soon the dust would be fleeing west or east or both, but praise be to God we have had some nice rain. It has brought all the plants, trees, shrubs, also weeds and flowers back to life. Sara K.

My daughter is actually helping me with this contest, I was playing around with haikus, she told me it's not perfect, but it's nice. She wouldn't place it in first if it was in a contest, haikus traditionally should all be within a moment not spread out, so I looked it up, she is correct. I am glad you told me this as, I wouldn't use this one as a model, she didn't tell me what level it would be placed in if it was, I guess I'll ask her. :) I am glad I have help with my contests, but, it is humbling sometimes :)

Thank you Andrea, I was just playing around with the theme of the 'Westward Wind' for the contest, others can do much better than I, but it is fun to sponsor a little contest again! I haven't hosted a contest for quite a long time, going blind just did not help at all to be on here, thank God for surgeons and doctors, I have a new lease on life :) I'm excited, I've already received some entries that are mind blowing, so good, excuse the pun. Truly, I'm seeing very artistically crafted haikus, way more creative than any I did last night! I think haikus are fun little gems though and I did have fun writing these :)

Thank you Kim, I was sort of playing last night as I decided to host a contest on the theme, I was inspired by someone's poem, maybe it was one of yours, of the wind whispering :)
