The Way It Is

For I am a simple man, with simple dreams,
Nothing complicated, or so it seems,
My heart is strong, although it has been cracked through the past,
With feelings of love, it heals quite fast,
I look for no sympathy, just words of care,
It's never hard to find, and I am always fair,
When I look into your eyes, it will always be the truth,
I have always lived this way, ever since my first tooth,
So take me in stride, I will forever be yours,
No matter what the day, or even when it pours.
