The Way In, the Way Out
A little child born just today,
And farther down the road someone has passed away.
As new enters in, the old must leave,
A time to rejoice, a time to grieve.
Everything in life has purpose, has reason,
And each stage of life unfolds, in each new season.
Each step we take is one less step we have to make,
And we never seem quite ready for that last step we all must take.
We must plow our furrows deep, and plant each seed with love,
Until it reaches for the sky, in search for what lies so far above.
Make the best of all we have, no matter what that may be,
These things are all blessings if you take the time to see.
Make a good memory with each new step, and leave a path that’s bright,
One that others will want to follow, like a beacon in the night.
That way when our time has come, and we have to say goodbye,
Those good memories will be tears of love and joy as they stop and cry.
