The Way I Am

I am moved to tears by acts of kindness
My heart rejoices when black turns to white
It’s not that other emotions mean any less
I am simply touched when things turn out just right

When fortune smiles on those in plight…

If fate deals a dirty hand then I will weep
But happy endings cause my eyes to stream
My soul cries out to those in trouble deep
Only, I hope that things may not be as they seem

A pain free world is the core of all I dream…

Dearest Nigel and Christie, I am writing the same note to you both to thank you personally for honoring me with first place in your contest. Truly shocked and bewildered, I have never really excelled at anything in my life, until coming to this site. This means very much to me, especially because you are both such talented poets. Just a great big thank you from my heart to yours, for whatever reason you chose mine. It means so much to me. Love & hugs ~ and happiness to you both. Love, Shar

This reveals so much about the person you are Nigel. One who truly cares, one who has a heart, and shows compassion for others. If only the rest of the world could be so kind............just imagine! ...... Love, Carrie
