The Waves Rose Out of the Sands

We never really saw it coming when the
waves rose out of the sands.
Deaf to the sounds of walls of water on
moving quickly on unsteady ground.

We never really saw it coming when the
thunder cracked the ground.
The holes and voids of darkness grew all
over our scarred lands.

We never really saw it coming when our
leaders chose to hate.
The people’s of our nation despised by
the elite because we earned a lower rate.

We never really saw it coming when our
country started to die.
The people treated like they just don’t
matter and never told the reasons why.

We never really saw it coming that your
children would pay the price. We screwed
all the good things that we had to give them
an horizon full of hate, deceit and lies.
