The Wanton Rose
Veiled tears that shroud the night
amongst the thorns of beauteous light
the wanton rose that beholds her grief
lost and forlorn n this ageless keep-
Whispered of rain, wind, and sand
breathless thoughts in an ancient land
oracles of time that see her pain
listen to her heart, and invoke the rain-
Angels carry her on golden light
caress the dawn with merciful night
upon the wings of bloodstained cries
immersed in shadows that never die-
But once amongst the sea and sand
amongst the rose, the river free
born of golden days of silver sun
came the greatest man to ever be-
To one woman he gave new life
he kissed her heart and made
her his wife-
She thought of him as the stars above
her heart could not contain
all the endless love
her life for him
on the wings of a dove-
